The thing about getting a 36 on the English section of the ACT is that now I expect myself to score incredibly high (a.k.a. perfectly) on any verbal reasoning section of any standardized test (like the GRE), and I have to accept that it’s okay to answer things incorrectly sometimes.
Ugh. I have the same exact problem. My GRE score is just going to be a formality for most of the programs I’m applying to, but I still want to get a perfect score, haha.
Fell into this trap like a punk. Didn’t even think about how my 36 meant I didn’t have to take any English classes in college, which means the last time I was schooled on proper grammar (other than when my boyfriend grammar attacks me) was over six years ago.
